The Unix Spellbook - a collection of links more or less related to unix.
- Before we try to wave the wand or cast arcane spells
it might be a good idea to learn something about where it
all started and where it all comes from; it might be a good
idea to learn something about the
History of UN*X.
- So life is good but after a refreshing change of environment
you realise that your spells are starting to fizzle.
You have just discovered the important fact that Unix
on some machines is nUxi.
This is an
excerpt
from a good spellbook that will help you see the light.
Also remember that Unix spelled backwards is xinU.
- As time passes you will learn new ways to manipulate the
symbols and perfect the art of placing your tokens.
To keep learning you must set new standards and therefor
also know your limits.
Are you a clueless newbie or a master of unix wizardry?
Check your grade.
- The best way to learn new knowledge is to learn from a
truly wise mentor. It might happend that your
system administrator is your guide to wisdom, and it might
happend that he is not. This is how you
find out.
- Few are choosen to enter the final path - the way of
the wizard. On that journey, always remember the
everlasting truths of the elders in the
Teachings of Tao.
In the name of
Kernighan,
Ritchie
and the holy
