Introduction
The
papers in this volume were first discussed at seminars, in Umeå
and
Madison,Wisconsin, respectively. The moderators of the two seminars,
Lisbeth Lundahl and Tom Popkewitz describe the seminans present and
discuss the background and processes of the seminars.
As series editor of the Monographs on Teacher Education and Research
in Umea, I got in charge of the publication of the papers. The
financing was guaranteed in equal parts by the Faculty of Education in
Madison, US, the Department of Education and the Board of Teacher
Education and Research at Umea University, Sweden.
